Garment care
A Jeeva set carries up to forty hours of hand embroidery. Looked after simply, it will outlast the summer you bought it for.
Beads, crystals and sequins
Spot clean only, with a barely damp cloth and no detergent. Keep perfume, hairspray and sunscreen away from the embellishment — they dull the crystals faster than anything else. Let the piece air before it goes away, and never put it in a machine.
Fringe and tassels
Lift the piece by its body, not by the fringe. If the strands tangle, separate them with your fingers rather than a comb, working from the bottom up. Stored flat, they hang straight again on their own.
The lace-up back
Loosen the ties fully before taking the set off, rather than pulling it over your head against the lacing. Re-tie loosely for storage so the eyelets keep their shape.
Storing and travelling
Fold flat with tissue between the layers and store out of direct sun — beadwork is heavy, and a hanger lets it pull against its own seams over time. Packing for a trip, keep the set flat at the top of the case with the embellishment facing up.
